A New Year and a New Knee

Thought it was about time I got back to this blog. Since having my knee replacement in January, I have collected many pictures of our projects but have not sat down long enough at the computer to post them. Trying to catch up today. Knee rehab is going well and I can sit for longer periods of time now, thankfully. I think I will start with yesterday's cards and go backward. I decided it was time for us to try the "Card in a Box" technique. Not everyone wanted to try it but once we got them done, we all agreed that they were not as hard as we thought. They came out great and we all want to try some more of them! Once the template is scored and the box is put together you can really use your imagination to decorate it. Lots of possibilities! Most of these are decorated with the Stampin'Up Flower Shop and Mixed Bunch stamp sets.

Thank you for a great year!

What a fabulous year with Scrap Rx and the Bunch Bunch! We will continue into 2014 with lots of plans to accomplish many crafting goals! Thanks for bringing all of your thoughts, ideas, humor and fun to the meetings. See you next year!
This is the card I designed for our last meeting. It was quick and fun to put together. All made from Stampin'up products...Island Indigo cardstock and ink, Sycamore Street (SAB 2013) paper and button, Lots of Thanks Stamp set, and the new Chevron punch.

Christmas Party, Christmas Bingo and more

Scrap Rx got together to celebrate Christmas and a year of card making together. We did do some work...assembled two Thank You cards.  Mostly we ate and played. A good time was had with Christmas Bingo and plenty of prizes. A Yankee gift swap was also held. I think everyone was happy with their gifts that they ended up with! Here are some pictures of Christmas cards/Gift wrap/tags  made by some members and shared at the party. My Christmas card is first. There were lots of layers but it was a fun card to make. It features the Wonderful Wreath Stampin'up stamp, Bird Builder punch, and cherry cobbler and old olive cardstock.
This is gift wrap by Marge and a folding tag. Beautiful!
The next three were made by Paula. One folded and the other two embossed and embellished.

Susan whipped up these adorable snowman cards!
Marge's snowy, peaceful Christmas card.
Lil mailed hers but I am including it since she is very much a part of this group! It was done with the new Stampin'up Snow Day stamp set.

And a few pictures from the party while playing Christmas Bingo.

Thinlit Flip Cards( and a beautiful "forced" poinsettia card)

Marti and Robbie have been having fun making their Christmas cards with the Thinlit dies. Robbie even got her grandsons to try it. Some have stamped images in the center, some stickers and some embossed.

The next three were made by Robbie's grandsons. I think they did a great job!

Marti says I "forced" her to buy this poinsettia stamp. What a beautiful glittered card she made it into!

Tag Workshops

Last year we had a great time with a tag exchange that we decided to do it again this year. Everyone designed their own tag and assembled bags containing the parts for everyone else to duplicate it. We ended up doing 13 tags with lots of laughs and good times. Here are the results! The first three were from last week's workshop.

Some Recent Activity

We really have been busy at our Scrap Rx meetings. I guess we just haven't been good about taking pictures!
This week Marti and Robbie played with the new Stampin' Up Thinlits card dies. (both the label and circle card dies) They were working on their Christmas cards and I think they came out with some great designs. The word "Joy" was cut on the Silhouette. Holly punch is Martha Stewart. They need a little more bling but they got it figured out.

Workshop this month was a gift bag made out of a 12 X 12  piece of scrapbook paper. Accents were punched with the blossom punch. Handles made out of red ribbon tied in knot on the inside.

A friend's daughter is having twins so I had to come up with a shower card. Peas in pod are a layered Silhouette die cut.

Monster Truck Party~

My grandson turns 3 next week and he wanted a Monster Truck birthday party...so he got one.  I downloaded the Monster Truck studio file for my Silhouette and cut them in several colors with black and silver wheels. They came out so good! Used one for the card and 4 to decorate his dollar store gift bag.
