Creativity is the prescription for the relief of the stress of everyday life.

Life is too short.

Sometimes those we love leave us way too early. This year has only just started and we have lost so many who were dear to us already. As a group we made Sympathy thank you cards. We designed them as we went along and I think they came out wonderful. They are embossed on a glimmer paper and done in dark brown and black.

I made a butterfly sympathy card for a great friend. Her sister loved butterflies and they have a special significance to her too.

Another sympathy card Marti made.

Birthdays so far this year.

A few birthday cards/wrap have been designed this year also. The first was for Carter's 2nd bday and is made to resemble those yummy Mickey chocolate covered ice cream bars at Disney! He had a Mickey Mouse themed party.

The next was for Paige's 10th birthday. Paige is a competitive swimmer so I downloaded some Silhouette swimmer dies and embossed the card with a waves embossing folder.

Robbie just celebrated her birthday and these are the cards that some of us made for her.

2014 Christmas Cards

Marti had a brilliant idea for us all to make two Christmas cards each month so we would have 2 made by the end of the year. Great idea in theory...if only some of us had started them at the beginning of the year! Margie and Paula did great and have been keeping right up. Sherry got hers started this week. The rest of us are going to be playing catch up.
The first ones are layered, embossed and die cut poinsettias.

Popup cards that fold down flat to put in envelope.

Silhouette accented Christmas Trees

Marge used some old books to accent these pictures.

Christmas tree die cut with beautiful background.
Star folded cards which open to a greeting inside.

Embossed ornament cards.

Valentine's Day

Paula cut everyone some turtle Valentine's Day die cuts on her Silhouette. The cards were adorable! She also made an anniversary fold out card for her hubby.

A New Year and a New Knee

Thought it was about time I got back to this blog. Since having my knee replacement in January, I have collected many pictures of our projects but have not sat down long enough at the computer to post them. Trying to catch up today. Knee rehab is going well and I can sit for longer periods of time now, thankfully. I think I will start with yesterday's cards and go backward. I decided it was time for us to try the "Card in a Box" technique. Not everyone wanted to try it but once we got them done, we all agreed that they were not as hard as we thought. They came out great and we all want to try some more of them! Once the template is scored and the box is put together you can really use your imagination to decorate it. Lots of possibilities! Most of these are decorated with the Stampin'Up Flower Shop and Mixed Bunch stamp sets.
