Play Ball

Robbie made this card today for her grandson's 9th birthday and I just had to share it. Made with the Happy Birthday embossing folder, Big Brads and baseball lettering.

Elegance

One paper..many different ways to use it. I had bought a package of  Michael's  Recollection "Elegance" patterned paper which included five different black/off white designs. Everyone liked the vesatility of the paper so much that they went out and got the same pack! Easy to embellish with silk flowers for beautiful cards. These five were made with the Asian floral design.

Birthdays and more Birthdays

We tried out the Happy Birthday embossing set by Sizzix and liked the way the birthday medallion embossed. On the first card the embossed brown cardstock looks like a piece of chocolate inked in white. The yellow and blue ones are chalked. Silk flowers, scallop punches, 3 layer butterflies and gems finish off the cards.

More butterfly birthday wishes from Marti with a daisy chain from and EK edger.

Marti's husband is turning 60 this week and here's the card I made for his gambling themed party.  I cut the numbers out with my Silhouette, placing the different colors behind them once it was cut. Poker chips and cards are brads. It's very 3D although it doesn't look it in the pictures.

Wedding Album

Marti created a wedding album for her mother in law of her son's beach wedding. They had a very unique color combination-peach and grey.  But, Marti did a great job working those colors into a beautful book. The EK "Flowers and Flourish" edge and corner punches added a lot to the elegance along with grey/peach silk flowers. It turned out simple and clean and very formal looking. The embellishments look orange but they are actually peach.

Fishy Friends

My twin great neice and nephew turn three next month so this afternoon I had some fun making their cards. I used an discontinued Stampin Up stamp set called "Fishy Friends". Background paper is "Riding the Waves" by Karen Foster. The bubbles are pearl embellishments and the font for the print is called "Kingthings Whizzbang". I loved the font because color could easily be added to it. Inside they say "Just swimming by to wish you a Happy Birthday."

Cards, cards and more cards!

We intended to work on some scrapbooking this last convention weekend but only managed to work on cards. First up some thank-you cards.

I have quite a few weddings coming up so I tried some wedding cards with stamping, embossing and coloring with markers. I was happy with the results but needed some lighter colors. Of course I just found the 47 Tombows I had in a safe place! lol

Some of the cards we made weren't designated for a specific occasion...that can be added later.

A couple of get well cards too.

Here's the scoop

I wanted to play around with ice cream cone cards and embossing. I had seen an idea for this on Pinterest. The first card I made by first cutting the ice cream cone parts with my Silhouette Die cut machine. Then, I embossed each piece and asembled it onto a "Happy Birthday" embossed card.

The second was a die cut one piece foldable ice cream card. (also on my Silhouette).  I embossed the ice cream part with swirls and added the chocolate chips. (a friend really wanted pistachio chocolate chip ice cream!)  They were a lot of fun to make!
